Coming Back

It's been over a month since I last wrote here. The longest gap since I started. Some of it was unavoidable, some of it was choice, and most of it was the kind of life that doesn't ask whether you're ready.

My grandmother passed away. We held the funeral. There's a kind of grief you don't write through in real time — you just sit in it.

12The Cars I MissedI've been into cars since the day I was born. It's the longest-running thing in my life. So watching the collector market shift over the last ten years has been less analysis and more pattern recognition by feel. The Mercedes SLS AMG. The manual Murciélago. Manual V12s in general. The SRT-10. I watched a lot of cars go from "you can get one" to "you can't" while I was still working on being able to get one.ideas · learning / 2 minideas · learning2 min read

05700 Days of Showing UpToday I hit a 700-day streak on Duolingo. It sounds like a small thing. Five or ten minutes a day doesn't feel like much when you look at it in isolation. But that's kind of the point.ideas · learning / 2 minideas · learning2 min read

01Interest vs CommitmentEveryone says they want the same things — money, freedom, to be in great shape. But most people only act when they feel like it.ideas / 1 minideas1 min read

28Discipline Starts With Your BodyThe habits I stick to are simple — 10,000 steps a day, clean whole foods, sunlight, good sleep, and staying socially active. Nothing extreme, just consistent.health / 1 minhealth1 min read

24Loneliness Is a SkillLoneliness is something I've always dealt with. It hasn't really changed whether I'm traveling or at home — it shows up the same way. It's just there. Sometimes it's light. Other times it feels heavy.ideas / 2 minideas2 min read

23Shipping My First Real SoftwareTwo months ago I started building Listpaver. It's the first time in my life I've written real code — not a landing page, not a tool stitched together with no-code, not a chatbot running off somebody else's API. An actual product that has to work for people who aren't me.business / 2 minbusiness2 min read

22Off ScriptMost people my age feel like they have to fit into a path that was already laid out for them. School, corporate job, stability — it's presented as the default, so no one really questions it.ideas / 1 minideas1 min read

22What Vietnam Taught Me About MoneyOne night in Vietnam, I came back to my apartment after a long day out. It was around 1am, and I remember thinking how nice the place was — especially for how little it cost compared to home. It felt like luxury.travel / 1 mintravel1 min read

22What I Choose to BuildWhen I get an idea, I run it through a simple filter: would I actually use this, and would people I know use it too. If the answer isn't clear, it's usually not worth building.business / 1 minbusiness1 min read

22Most AI Builders Are Focused on the Wrong ThingMost AI builders are rushing to ship because they're afraid someone will steal their idea. Speed matters, but not at the cost of building something people actually want to pay for.business / 1 minbusiness1 min read

22What Traveling Alone Taught MeTraveling alone is completely different than going with other people. You're on your own schedule — you can do what you want, when you want — but that freedom comes with a tradeoff. It gets lonely.travel / 2 mintravel2 min read
